The Secret Pyramid Pool
Lily loved exploring, especially on rainy afternoons when lightning danced across the sky like golden ribbons. Today, the storm had passed, leaving behind puddles that shimmered like tiny mirrors.
Behind her grandmother's old house, she discovered something she'd never noticed before—a mysterious stone pyramid hidden among overgrown vines. It wasn't big, just tall enough for Lily to peek over.
"What are you spying on?" asked a voice.
Lily jumped! It was Leo, her neighbor with the curly hair and gap-toothed smile.
"I'm not a spy!" Lily giggled. "I'm exploring. Come look!"
Together they investigated the stone pyramid. At its base, they found carved words: *Throw a wish into the pool below.*
"Pool?" Leo asked. "There's no pool here."
But then Lily noticed something. Water was trickling from between the stones, forming a small crystal-clear pool at the pyramid's base. It sparkled with tiny lights that flickered like captured lightning.
"It's magic," Lily whispered.
They sat beside the glowing pool. "What should we wish for?" Leo asked.
Lily thought about the kids who had no one to play with. "I wish everyone had a best friend."
"And I wish..." Leo closed his eyes. "I wish for adventures that never end."
They tossed small pebbles into the water. Instead of splashes, the pool made a musical sound—like tiny bells ringing. The water glowed brighter, swirling with colors.
Suddenly, the pyramid began to hum. A warm breeze carried the scent of flowers and ocean waves. The pool's water rose up, forming shapes—a ship sailing on clouds, a castle among stars, children holding hands around the world.
"Look!" Leo pointed. "Our wishes are becoming real!"
The shapes dissolved into sparkling mist that floated up into the sky, joining the clouds.
"Where do you think they're going?" Lily asked.
"To make wishes come true somewhere," Leo said. "Maybe right now, someone is finding their best friend because of us."
The storm clouds cleared, and sunlight painted the sky in rainbows. Lily and Leo sat by their secret pyramid pool, knowing that magic wasn't just in wishes—it was in sharing them with a friend.
And from that day on, whenever it rained and lightning streaked across the sky, they would sneak to their hidden spot, make new wishes, and watch them float up to become someone else's miracle.
