The Secret Pyramid Pond
Lily loved being a spy. Every day after school, she would creep through her grandmother's garden with her magnifying glass, searching for magical creatures. The old woman had warned her about the mysterious pond behind the wooden shed, but Lily's curiosity was too strong.
The shed had a strange pyramid-shaped roof that pointed toward the sky like a finger. Lily had noticed that whenever it rained, water would cascade down the pyramid's sides in shimmering streams, creating tiny rainbows in the sunlight.
One hot afternoon, Lily followed a beautiful blue butterfly past the shed. She gasped! Behind the pyramid-shaped building was a crystal-clear pond she had never seen before. But this wasn't ordinary water—the surface sparkled like diamonds, and tiny glowing fish swam beneath.
"Hello, young spy," said a voice. Lily jumped! A small dragon, no bigger than her hand, perched on a lily pad. "I've been watching you watch us."
Lily's eyes widened. "You're real!"
"We are the Water Folk," the dragon explained. "Long ago, we built this pyramid to protect our pond. Only those with pure hearts and curious minds can see through its magic."
The dragon showed Lily wonders: fish that sang like bells, flowers that bloomed and danced to music only water creatures could hear, and a secret waterfall that flowed upward into the sky.
"Can I tell my grandmother?" Lily asked.
"If she believes in magic, she will understand," the dragon said. "But remember—the best discoveries are meant to be shared with those who love you."
That evening, Lily told her grandmother everything. The old woman smiled knowingly. "I was hoping someone with your curious heart would find them. I was a spy too, when I was your age."
Now Lily and her grandmother visit the secret pond together. They learned that magic is real if you believe in it, and that being curious—and sharing your discoveries—makes the world more wonderful for everyone.
