The Secret Pyramid of Stars
Lily loved lying on the grass at night, watching the stars with her dog Buster. Buster was a golden retriever with a heart full of adventures, and tonight was no ordinary night.
"Look, Buster!" Lily whispered, pointing upward. "That star looks like it's winking!"
Buster wagged his tail, sensing something magical in the warm summer air. Suddenly, a shooting star streaked across the sky — not away from them, but TOWARDS their backyard pond!
The star splashed into the water with a soft *plop*, and suddenly, the water began to glow. A shimmering golden pyramid rose from the pond, spinning slowly and humming an ancient song.
"Whoa," breathed Lily. Buster let out a curious woof.
From inside the pyramid emerged the most magnificent creature Lily had ever seen — a great bull made of stardust and moonlight, with horns that glowed like tiny galaxies.
"I am Orion," the bull spoke in a voice like gentle thunder. "And I've been searching the cosmos for someone brave enough to be my friend."
Lily's eyes widened. "Me? But I'm just a kid."
"You're a spy of wonders," Orion smiled, his constellation-shaped patches twinkling. "You notice what others miss. That's a special gift."
Orion explained that every night, he watched over the world from the stars, but he'd never had a friend on Earth to share his adventures with. He offered Lily and Buster a ride through the night sky.
Climbing onto Orion's back felt like riding on a cloud made of dreams. They soared over oceans and mountains, watching the world sleep below. Buster barked happily at passing comets.
"The best friends," Orion said softly, "are the ones who see the magic in ordinary things."
When they returned to the pond, Orion pressed his nose against Lily's forehead. "Remember, adventures aren't just found in faraway places. They're right here, waiting for curious eyes and kind hearts."
The pyramid dissolved back into stardust, leaving only ripples on the water. But that night, and every night after, Lily and Buster would spy for wonders in their backyard — because the best adventures begin with believing that magic is real, especially when you have a friend to share it with.
