The Secret Pyramid in the Pool
Lily loved summer days best of all. She would race outside in her swimsuit, her messy brown hair flying behind her like a bird's wings. But this summer held the most magical surprise of all.
It happened on a Tuesday morning. Lily jumped into her backyard pool, sending sparkling water splashing in all directions. Her golden retriever, Max, barked happily and chased the bubbles along the pool's edge. Max was the best dog in the world—always ready for adventure.
Suddenly, Lily spotted something strange at the bottom of the pool. She dove down, her eyes open in the cool blue water. There, shimmering in the sunlight, was a tiny pyramid no bigger than her hand. It glowed with a soft orange light, like captured sunshine.
Lily grabbed the pyramid and popped up to the surface, gasping for air.
"Look, Max!" she cried, holding up her treasure.
The pyramid was warm and smooth, covered in mysterious symbols that seemed to dance when she looked at them. Max sniffed it curiously, his wet nose tickling Lily's hand. She laughed and scratched behind his ears, his fur soft against her fingers.
That night, Lily hid the pyramid under her pillow. She dreamed of deserts and camels, of stars that whispered secrets, and of a friendly voice calling her name.
When she woke, the pyramid was glowing brighter than ever. A tiny face peeked from inside it—a miniature girl with long flowing blue hair made of water droplets!
"I'm Cleo," said the water girl. "Thank you for finding my home."
Lily couldn't believe her eyes. "You live in a pyramid?"
Cleo smiled. "It's a magical pyramid that travels between worlds. I was blown away by a storm and ended up in your pool."
Lily knew just what to do. She carried the pyramid back to the pool, with Max trotting beside her. Gently, she placed it in the water.
"Will I ever see you again?" Lily asked.
Cleo's water hair rippled like waves. "Whenever you need magic, just splash three times and call my name. Friends are never far apart."
The pyramid dissolved into sparkles, and the pool water shimmered with rainbow colors for just a moment.
Max barked as if saying goodbye. Lily hugged him tight, her heart full of wonder.
Some secrets are meant to be kept, and some friends are meant to be found. And sometimes, the most amazing adventures are waiting right in your own backyard.
