The Secret Pool Pyramid

Lily was the best **spy** in the neighborhood—at least in her own imagination. With her magnifying glass and notebook, she investigated everything from missing cookies to strange noises in Mrs. Higgins' garden.

One afternoon, while exploring behind the old library, Lily discovered something amazing. Hidden among the overgrown bushes was a miniature **pyramid**, no taller than her waist, made of shimmering stones that seemed to glow in the afternoon light. Strange symbols covered its sides.

As she stepped closer, the ground beneath her feet rumbled, and suddenly, a crystal-clear **pool** appeared at the pyramid's base. The water sparkled like liquid diamonds, and lily pads with glowing purple flowers floated on its surface.

"Who goes there?" a voice croaked from behind the pyramid.

Lily jumped! A green creature shuffled out—not scary, but sort of goofy-looking. It was a **zombie**, but not like in movies. This zombie had bright purple flowers woven into its messy green hair and wore a friendly smile.

"I'm Zed," the zombie said. "I've been guarding this magical pool for five hundred years. Are you friend or foe?"

"Lily, professional spy," she whispered dramatically. "I come in peace!"

Zed laughed, a rumbling sound like distant thunder. "Good! Because I have a big problem. This pool grants wishes, but only to those who bring the most unexpected gift. Everyone tries gold and jewels, but those never work."

Lily thought hard. What could be more unexpected than gold? Then she remembered what was in her pocket—her dad had made her pack vegetables from their garden before she left.

She pulled out a bunch of fresh green **spinach** leaves.

Zed's eyes widened. "Spinach? No one has ever brought spinach!"

Lily tossed the spinach into the magical pool. The water turned brilliant green and swirled upward, forming a beautiful green fairy who fluttered above them.

"Thank you!" the fairy chimed. "You've solved the riddle! The greatest gift is health, not wealth."

She waved her wand, and the entire neighborhood suddenly bloomed with magical gardens. Every yard now grew fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers.

"You're a real hero," Zed said, handing Lily a special badge made from pyramid stone. "Better than any spy—I'm making you an official Guardian of the Magic Pool."

Lily grinned, pocketing her new badge. Some days, being a curious spy was the best adventure ever.
