The Secret Pool of Starlight
Lily loved summer evenings by the pool behind her grandmother's house. The water would sparkle like liquid diamonds under the moon, and the old palm tree whispered secrets to the wind.
One night, Lily spotted something glowing near the palm roots—an orange as bright as a tiny sun. But when she picked it up, it wasn't fruit at all. It hummed with magic, warm against her palms.
Curious, Lily pulled out her iPhone to take a picture. But through the screen, she saw something amazing—the water in the pool rippled with starlight, and a magnificent creature emerged.
It was a bull, but not like any she'd seen in books. His coat shimmered like galaxies, and his eyes held ancient kindness. He bowed his head gently.
"I've waited centuries for someone pure of heart," the bull spoke in a voice like rustling leaves. "The orange you hold is the key to the Pool of Forgotten Dreams."
Lily's heart raced with wonder. She held out the glowing orange. The bull nudged it with his starry nose, and suddenly the pool transformed into a swirling portal of colors.
"Will you trust me?" the bull asked. "I will take you somewhere wonderful."
Lily nodded. She climbed onto the bull's back, holding tight to his magical fur as they stepped into the pool. But instead of water, they walked through clouds of light and memory.
She saw children playing in every shade of orange, heard laughter like wind through palms, felt the strength of bulls protecting their friends. These were the forgotten dreams the bull guarded—joy and courage that the world had lost.
The bull brought her back, and the orange faded into sparkles that joined the stars. "Thank you for remembering," he said. "True magic lives in brave hearts who dare to dream."
That night, Lily fell asleep under the palm tree, the iPhone on her chest showing a photo of the starlit bull. Some things didn't need to be captured to be believed—only felt, in the place where wonder lives.
