The Secret Pool of Moonlight Farm

Lily discovered the magic behind the old palm tree on a Tuesday. She'd been playing hide-and-seek with her cat, Mochi, when she noticed something strange. The largest palm tree in the garden had grown another frond – one that shimmered like rainbow sugar.

Curious, Lily ducked under the palm leaves and gasped. There, hidden from view, was a pool no bigger than a bathtub. But this wasn't ordinary water. It sparkled with tiny lights, like someone had sprinkled stars into liquid moonlight.

"Hello?" Lily whispered.

A small face popped up from the water – a girl with seaweed-green hair and eyes like polished pearls. "You found my pool!" she squeaked happily. "I'm Marina. I'm a water sprite."

Lily's eyes widened. "A real sprite? Like in storybooks?"

"Exactly!" Marina splashed joyfully. "But I'm hungry. Do you have any spinach?"

"Spinach?" Lily wrinkled her nose. "That's yucky."

"Not magic spinach!" Marina giggled. "The kind that grows in enchanted gardens. It gives sprites the power to grant wishes."

Lily remembered the patch of strange vegetables Grandma grew behind the greenhouse. The one with leaves that glowed softly at night. She rushed to grab a handful, her heart pounding with excitement.

When she returned, Marina ate the spinach leaves daintily. Instantly, the sprite began to glow. "Thank you! Now I can give you a wish."

Lily thought hard. She could wish for toys, or candy, or to fly on a real dragon. But looking at Marina's lonely smile, she knew what she truly wanted.

"I wish for you to have friends who can visit whenever you want," Lily said firmly.

Marina's eyes filled with happy tears. The pool expanded, creating a beautiful swimming spot where all the neighborhood children could play. And every day, Lily brought magic spinach from Grandma's garden, knowing that the best wishes are the ones that bring joy to others.

From that day on, the pool behind the palm tree became the most magical place in the world – where friendship grew deeper than any water, and kindness was the most powerful magic of all.
