The Secret Pool of Magic

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's garden, but today she found something extraordinary. Behind the tall sunflowers, hidden beneath a canopy of twinkling leaves, there was a shimmering **pool** no bigger than a bathtub. The water glowed like liquid sunshine.

"Hello there!" squeaked a voice. Lily looked down to see a bright **orange** butterfly perched on a mossy stone. "I'm Sunny! Are you here for the magic water?"

"Magic water?" Lily whispered, eyes wide.

"Yes!" A rustling came from nearby. Out from the leaves peeked a small girl made entirely of green **spinach** leaves, her hair a crown of curly stems. "I'm Spinella. One sip of this pool's water makes your imagination come alive!"

Lily's heart raced. "But what if I can't imagine anything wonderful?"

Just then, a tiny fairy with pink wings fluttered down from a **papaya** tree overhead. She held a wedge of golden papaya like a crown. "Oh, silly child!" The fairy laughed, her voice like wind chimes. "The magic doesn't make you imagine—it helps you believe in your own dreams."

Lily thought hard. She closed her eyes and imagined her grandmother dancing again, like she did before her legs got tired. She imagined the garden blooming even bigger, with more friends to play with.

She dipped her hand into the glowing water and took one small sip.

Warmth spread through her chest. When she opened her eyes, the garden seemed brighter. She noticed things she'd never seen before—a sleepy beetle saying goodnight, a spider weaving a silver web, the way the **papaya** leaves danced in the breeze.

"I see it now," Lily breathed. "The magic was already here. I just needed to really look."

Spinella smiled, her spinach leaves shimmering. "Exactly! The pool's water just helps you see what's always been magical. Every day can be an adventure if you pay attention."

Lily hugged her new friends—Sunny the orange butterfly, Spinella the spinach girl, and the papaya fairy. She ran back to her grandmother, ready to share all the wonderful things she'd discovered.

That night, as Lily drifted to sleep, she whispered, "Thank you for the magic." And somewhere in the garden, a tiny pool glowed a little brighter, waiting for the next dreamer to find its wonder.
