The Secret Pool of Magic
Lily loved the old garden behind her grandmother's house. It had towering palm trees that whispered secrets in the wind, and a hidden pool that sparkled like diamonds under the moon.
One warm evening, Lily heard soft splashing coming from the pool. She tiptoed closer, hiding behind a large palm tree, and decided to spy on whoever was making the noise.
What she saw made her gasp!
A enormous bull stood at the edge of the pool. But this wasn't any ordinary bull – his fur shimmered like stardust, and his horns glowed with gentle golden light. The bull lowered his head carefully and took a sip from the magical water. Suddenly, beautiful flowers bloomed around his hooves!
The bull looked up and spotted Lily behind the palm tree. Instead of running away, he spoke in a voice like thunder wrapped in honey.
"Hello, little one. I am Barnaby, the guardian of this magic pool. I come here every full moon to drink, so I can spread magic across the world."
Lily stepped out slowly, her eyes wide. "I thought bulls were scary," she admitted.
Barnaby laughed gently. "That's what many think. But the most important thing to remember is this: never judge someone by how they look. The scariest creatures can have the kindest hearts, and the smallest friends can be the bravest."
He dipped his nose into the pool and splashed water toward Lily. When the drops touched her, she felt warmth spread through her whole body.
"Now you too can share magic," Barnaby said. "Use it to help others and spread kindness."
Lily watched as Barnaby walked away into the night, leaving a trail of flowers behind him. From that night on, she visited the pool often, always leaving gifts for her friend. And whenever she saw someone who looked different or scary, she remembered the gentle bull and always said hello first.
For she knew that magic exists everywhere – especially in the hearts of those who take time to truly see each other.
