Lily lived in a tall apartment building, but she dreamed of adventures. One afternoon, she spotted something strange outside her window—a sparkling **cable** that seemed to hum with golden light, stretching from her balcony all the way to a mysterious garden below.

Lily thought hard. She didn't wish for toys or candy. She thought about her lonely neighbor, Mrs. Chen, who missed her grandchildren overseas.
