The Secret Pool Magic

Lily loved summer evenings at the neighborhood pool. When most kids went home for dinner, she stayed to watch the water turn purple and orange as the sun set.

One Tuesday, something strange happened. The water began to bubble, and three slowly-rising figures emerged from the deep end. They were greenish and moved super slowly—like zombies from movies, but not scary at all. They looked sad and confused.

"Are you... real zombies?" Lily asked, staying at the pool's edge.

The first zombie, who had seaweed hair, nodded slowly. "We're pool zombies. We live in the deep water, but we're stuck moving slow because we're missing something special."

"What do you need?" Lily asked.

"Friendship vitamins!" said the second zombie, whose sparkly scales shimmered under the pool lights. "Long ago, kids used to drop vitamin tablets that made our magic work. Now everyone uses plain water, and we're losing our power."

Lily's heart raced with excitement. She remembered her mom kept special multivitamins in her bag on the bench! But these weren't ordinary vitamins—these were friendship-shaped chewables shaped like hearts.

"Wait here!" Lily called, grabbing her mom's bag. She returned with three bright orange vitamins, shaped exactly like little hearts. "I think these are friendship vitamins!"

She dropped them into the pool. Sparkles erupted like tiny fireworks. The pool zombies gobbled them up, and suddenly—WHOOSH!

They began swimming beautifully! They did flips and spins and created rainbow-colored splashes that filled the whole pool area with magic. The third zombie zoomed over to Lily.

"Thank you!" he cheered, no longer slow at all. "Because you shared with us, now we can teach every kid here to do magical swimming! Want to learn?"

Lily jumped right in, and the pool zombies taught her to swim like a mermaid, leaving trails of glitter wherever she went.

That night, Lily learned something wonderful: sharing what you have—even something small like a vitamin—can unlock magic you never knew existed. And sometimes, the things that seem scary at first just need a little friendship to show their true sparkle.

Every evening after that, Lily brought friendship vitamins for her pool zombie friends, and they had the most magical swimming adventures anyone could imagine.
