The Secret Pool Friends
Lily was a curious girl who loved to explore the forest behind her house. Every day after school, she would sneak through the tall trees and play spy, watching the magical creatures that lived there.
One afternoon, Lily followed a sparkling path she had never noticed before. It led her to a hidden clearing where the most beautiful pool shimmered like liquid diamonds. The water was so clear she could see colorful fish swimming below.
But what made Lily gasp was what she saw beside the pool. A giant brown bear sat on one side, and on the other side sat a massive bull with golden horns. They weren't fighting at all! Instead, the bear was carefully peeling an orange, while the bull watched patiently.
"Would you like a slice?" the bear asked in a deep, gentle voice. "This orange is perfectly ripe."
"Thank you, friend," the bull replied softly. "Your fur is so warm today. May I sit closer?"
Lily couldn't believe her eyes! Everyone knew bears and bulls were supposed to be enemies. But these two were sharing oranges and being kind to each other.
The bear looked up and spotted Lily. "Hello there, little spy. Come join us!"
Lily stepped forward, her heart pounding. "How are you friends? You're so different."
The bull smiled warmly. "That's exactly why we're friends. We learn from each other. The bear teaches me about the forest, and I teach him about the open meadows."
"And," the bear added, handing Lily a piece of orange, "we discovered that sharing makes everything better – especially oranges."
Lily took the sweet, juicy orange slice and sat between them. For hours, they talked and laughed, sharing stories and the rest of the oranges. As the sun began to set, Lily realized something important: friendship isn't about being the same. It's about being kind, sharing, and accepting differences.
Every day after that, Lily returned to the secret pool. She learned that the best friends can be the most unexpected ones, and that a little orange can bring anyone together.
