The Secret Padel Spy

padelspyzombie

Lily and Max loved to play spy. Every Saturday, they'd creep around the neighborhood with their toy binoculars, whispering into walkie-talkies and looking for mysteries.

Today, their spy mission led them to the old community center. Through the fence, they spotted a padel court — but no one had played there in years. The weeds had grown tall, and the net sagged like a sleepy caterpillar.

"Wait!" Lily grabbed Max's arm. "Did you see that?"

Something shambled behind the court. A figure in tattered clothes moved slowly, dragging one leg.

"It's a zombie!" Max gasped.

Lily shook her head. "Real zombies aren't real. Let's spy closer."

They crept through a gap in the fence. The creature hunched near the padel court, pushing something heavy. It groaned — but not in a scary way. It sounded frustrated.

The friends hid behind a bush. Lily gasped. "That's not a zombie. That's Mr. Henderson from down the street!"

The old man struggled to fix the sagging net. His brace made his leg drag, and his old gardening clothes were covered in dirt.

"He's not a zombie," Max whispered. "He's just lonely."

Mr. Henderson jumped when they stepped out. "Oh! You startled me. I was just... trying to fix up this old court. My grandson loves padel, and he's visiting next week."

His eyes twinkled. "You two wouldn't happen to know anything about padel, would you?"

Lily and Max looked at each other and grinned. They may have been pretending to be spies, but they'd stumbled upon something better — a mystery that turned into friendship.

"We can help!" Lily said.

And that's how the three secret spies spent their Saturday fixing up the padel court, turning a zombie sighting into the best adventure ever.
