The Secret of the Swimming Pyramid

Lily loved swimming more than anything in the world. Every summer day, she would dive into the sparkling blue lake behind her house, pretending she was a mermaid exploring an underwater kingdom.

One hot afternoon, while swimming deeper than usual, Lily noticed something strange glimmering at the bottom of the lake. A golden pyramid! It was small enough to hold in her hand, with mysterious symbols that seemed to glow in the water.

As she reached for it, a green figure emerged from behind a cluster of seaweed. Lily gasped! It looked like a zombie from her storybooks — pale skin, tattered clothes, and messy hair. But instead of feeling scared, she felt curious.

"Please don't take my treasure," the zombie said in a soft, sad voice. "I'm not scary. I'm just lonely."

Lily tilted her head. "You're a zombie?"

"Yes, but not the scary kind," the zombie explained. "My name is Zara. A magic spell turned me into this form long ago. The pyramid is the only thing that keeps me company."

Lily's heart went out to Zara. "I'm Lily, and I love swimming here. Would you like to swim with me instead of guarding that old pyramid all alone?"

Zara's eyes lit up. "Really? No one has ever wanted to be my friend before."

Together, Lily and Zara spent the afternoon swimming, playing tag, and racing through the cool water. They laughed so much that the magical symbols on the pyramid began to sparkle brighter than ever.

Suddenly, the pyramid rose from the lake floor, floating in the air. A warm light surrounded Zara, and when it faded, her green skin became rosy and her clothes transformed into a beautiful swimming suit.

"The pyramid's magic," Zara whispered, smiling. "It needed true friendship to break the spell."

From that day on, Lily and Zara were best friends, swimming together every summer. And the magical pyramid? It became their secret treasure box, where they kept all their wonderful memories of friendship, adventure, and the joy of never judging someone by how they look.
