The Secret of the Starry Pool

Lily loved her swimming pool. But she loved it most at midnight, when the moon turned the water into liquid silver. Her friend Marco always said she was imagining things.

"Pools are just water," Marco would laugh. "You and your stories!"

But tonight, everything changed.

Lily slipped outside in her pajamas. The pool shimmered like diamonds. Something flashed at the bottom — something gold and bright. She held her breath and dove deep.

It was a cable. A shimmering golden cable, glowing with its own light, stretching down into the darkness. Lily grabbed it and gave a gentle tug.

WHOOSH!

The water swirled into a magical vortex, and suddenly Lily wasn't in her pool anymore. She was gliding through an underwater tunnel that sparkled with bioluminescent creatures — fish that looked like tiny stars, jellyfish that glowed rainbow colors.

The cable led her to an incredible place. She emerged into a vast cavern dominated by a crystal pyramid that pulsed with soft blue light. Inside sat hundreds of glowing creatures, each one different — some fluffy, some scaly, some with wings like butterflies.

"Welcome, friend," whispered a small silver fox. "We are the Dream Keepers. We guard children's happiest dreams so they never fade away."

Lily understood. This was where magic lived. Where imagination became real.

"Will you help us?" the fox asked. "Our pyramid is fading. Children are forgetting to dream."

Lily thought of Marco, who never believed in magic. She knew what she had to do.

She swam back through the tunnel, following the golden cable. When she emerged in her pool, Marco stood at the edge, eyes wide.

"I saw... I saw lights," he whispered. "Are you really doing magic?"

Lily smiled and held out her hand. "Want to see?"

Together, they dove into the silver water, following the glowing cable toward adventure. And from that night on, Marco never doubted magic again. Because the best magic isn't just in the wonder — it's in sharing it with a friend.
