The Secret of the Star Pool
Lila loved playing spy. Every Saturday, she would sneak around her backyard with her magnifying glass, looking for mysteries. One hot summer day, she spotted something strange behind the old swimming pool in the neighbor's yard.
A tiny door was hidden beneath the leaning palm tree!
Lila called her best friend Marco. "Marco! Bring your swimming gear! I've discovered a secret!"
Marco splashed into the pool. "What mystery today, Detective Lila?"
"Look!" Lila pointed. "Behind that palm—there's a tiny door!"
The children squeezed behind the palm tree. Sure enough, a colorful door sat in the trunk, no bigger than a lunchbox. Lila knocked softly.
"Who goes there?" squeaked a tiny voice.
"I'm Lila the Spy, and this is Marco! We come in friendship!"
The door creaked open, revealing the smallest owl Lila had ever seen. He wore tiny glasses and held a glowing orange bottle.
"I'm Oliver!" said the owl. "And I need help! My pool of wishes is running dry!"
Marco's eyes widened. "A pool of wishes?"
Oliver led them through a secret passage to a sparkling underground pool. But the water was barely a trickle.
"The magic vitamins in this bottle keep the water flowing," explained Oliver. "But I lost my special spoon to stir them!"
"I can help!" said Marco, who was excellent at mixing things. He carefully stirred the vitamins into a small cup of water, then poured it into the pool.
The water began to bubble and shine! Soon the whole pool was glowing, filled with magical light.
"Thank you!" cheered Oliver. "Now I can grant one wish to each friend who helped."
Lila thought hard. "I wish to discover something new every day!"
"I wish for always having friends to share adventures with!" said Marco.
Oliver twinkled. "Granted! But remember—the magic works best when you share it."
From that day on, Lila and Marco visited Oliver after swimming, sharing stories and discovering new secrets together. And they learned that the best mysteries are the ones you solve with friends.
