The Secret of the Sleeping Pyramid

Lila loved exploring her grandmother's garden, especially the papaya tree that grew the sweetest orange fruit. One afternoon, as she reached for a perfect papaya, it began to glow golden. A tiny pyramid symbol appeared on its skin.

"What's happening?" Lila whispered.

The papaya floated upward and transformed into a golden pyramid as tall as her knee. Its crystal tip sparkled like captured sunshine.

"Hello there!" grumbled a voice.

Lila jumped. Behind the papaya pyramid stood a greenish figure with messy hair and stitched-up clothes—a zombie! But he didn't look scary. He looked tired.

"I'm NOT a zombie," he said, reading her mind. "I'm a ZOM-BE—a Zone Of Magic Being Explorer. My name is Barnaby."

"I'm Lila. What are you doing in my grandma's garden?"

Barnaby sighed. " guarding this pyramid. It's a portal to magical worlds. But I fell asleep for fifty years and missed my ride home. Now I need help."

Suddenly, a magnificent bull with constellation-patterns on his coat galloped into the garden. His horns were made of stardust.

"The Star Bull!" Barnaby cheered. "He can take us through the pyramid!"

The bull spoke in a rumbling voice like distant thunder. "Who summons me?"

Lila's pocket buzzed—her iPhone! Her mom was calling. But then she had an idea. "Mr. Star Bull, can you show us the way through the pyramid? My friend Barnaby needs to go home."

"Only if you're brave enough to climb on my back," the bull answered.

Lila hesitated, then remembered her grandmother's words: *Magic comes to those who trust.* She grabbed Barnaby's hand. "We're ready!"

They climbed onto the Star Bull's back. As he galloped toward the glowing pyramid, Lila snapped a photo with her iPhone to remember this moment.

CRASH! They tumbled through a rainbow vortex and landed in a meadow where butterflies the size of umbrellas danced. Barnaby hugged them both.

"Thank you for believing in me," he said. "Even when I looked like a monster."

"Looks can be deceiving," Lila smiled, waving goodbye as the Star Bull carried her back through the papaya portal.

That night, Lila looked at the photo on her iPhone—Barnaby, the Star Bull, and her, mid-leap into the pyramid. Some adventures are real, even if grown-ups don't believe.

And the papaya tree? It still grows the sweetest fruit—but only Lila knows which ones glow.
