The Secret of the Shimmering Pool

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard, especially the hidden corner behind the old palm tree. Its leaves swayed like green umbrellas, whispering secrets in the wind. One hot afternoon, Lily noticed something glimmering beneath the palm's shade—a tiny pool she'd never seen before!

The water sparkled like diamonds, and inside swam the most beautiful goldfish she'd ever seen. His scales were orange and gold, shimmering like little stars.

"Hello!" Lily whispered, kneeling beside the pool. "Are you magical?"

The goldfish swam to the surface and spoke in a bubbly voice. "I'm Finnigan! And yes, I'm enchanted—but I need your help. I've lost my sparkle vitamin!"

"Sparkle vitamin?" Lily's eyes went wide.

"Yes! A special sunshine vitamin that keeps my magic glowing. Without it, I'll fade away. It's hidden somewhere in this garden, but I can't leave my pool to find it."

Lily stood up determinedly. "I'll help you, Finnigan!"

She searched behind bushes and under flowers. She looked around the palm tree's trunk. Finally, she spotted something glittering near a cluster of bright yellow flowers—a tiny golden capsule!

"Is this it?" Lily rushed back to the pool.

Finnigan did a happy flip when he saw it. "Yes! You found it!" Lily gently dropped the sparkle vitamin into the water. Finnigan swallowed it, and suddenly his scales blazed with brilliant light. The whole pool began to glow!

"Thank you, Lily!" Finnigan sang. "For your kindness and bravery, I grant you one wish."

Lily thought carefully. She didn't want toys or treats. "I wish that every child could have a magical friend like you."

Finnigan smiled. "That's the perfect wish." He tapped the water with his tail, and tiny bubbles floated up toward the palm tree's branches. They burst into sparkles that drifted on the wind, carrying magic to children everywhere.

From that day on, Lily visited her friend Finnigan every afternoon. She learned that the best magic comes from helping others—and that true friends are worth more than any treasure in the world.
