The Secret of the Orange Lightning

Lily was the best detective in her whole elementary school. Well, she was actually the only detective. Every day at recess, she would sneak around the playground with her special spy notebook, looking for mysteries to solve. She had a magnifying glass, a secret whistle, and a badge she made from aluminum foil.

One Tuesday, Lily spotted something strange by the school's swimming pool. The new kid, Oliver, was practicing padel all by himself. But that wasn't the strange part. Every time Oliver hit the ball, a tiny spark of orange light flashed like miniature lightning!

Lily crept closer, hiding behind a big oak tree. She watched as Oliver set down his padel racket and walked to the edge of the pool. Then he did something amazing — he dipped his hand in the water, and suddenly hundreds of tiny orange fish appeared, swimming in perfect circles!

"Gotcha!" Lily stepped out from behind the tree.

Oliver jumped. "Please don't tell anyone!"

"I won't," Lily promised. "But you have to explain. Those fish... and the sparks..."

Oliver smiled. "My grandmother is from a magical place called Cítrica. She taught me that when you do something you love — like swimming or playing padel — you can make magic. The orange fish represent friendship, and the lightning sparks mean joy."

Lily's eyes widened. "Can anyone learn?"

"Yes!" Oliver said. "But you have to share it. Magic grows when you give it away."

Together, they came up with a plan. During the school's swim competition, Oliver and Lily secretly shared their magic with every nervous swimmer. Tiny orange fish appeared in each lane, guiding the children forward. Little lightning sparks of courage flashed above the pool.

Every student finished with smiles on their faces. The magic hadn't made anyone win, but it had made everyone feel brave and happy.
