The Secret of the Orange Ghost
Luna was no ordinary cat. She was a spy cat, or at least that's what she told herself every morning while perched on the garden fence. Her special spy mission? Protect her human, seven-year-old Maya, from anything mysterious.
One autumn afternoon, Luna spotted something strange behind the old orange tree in the backyard. A shadowy figure was shuffling around, making soft groaning noises. Luna's spy senses tingled. She crept closer, her white paws silent on the fallen leaves.
"What are you doing?" Luna meowed in her most important spy voice.
The figure turned around. It was a zombie! But not a scary one. This zombie was painted completely orange, from his messy orange hair to his bright orange shoes. He looked confused and sad.
"I'm lost," the orange zombie said. "I'm supposed to be in the Halloween parade, but I wandered into the wrong garden."
Luna's spy training hadn't prepared her for a lost zombie who needed help. But her heart knew what to do. "My human Maya loves helping people," she purred. "She'll know what to do."
Together, Luna and the orange zombie—whose name was Oliver—marched to Maya's back door. Maya was delighted to meet them. "Orange must be your favorite color!" she exclaimed.
"It is," Oliver smiled. "Orange is happy and warm, like sunshine."
Maya used her special map app to help Oliver find his way to the parade. Before he left, Oliver gave Luna an orange flower from the parade preparations. "For the bravest spy cat," he said.
Luna realized something important that day. Sometimes the best spy missions aren't about catching bad guys. They're about making new friends and helping others find their way home.
That night, Luna slept with her orange flower beside her, dreaming of orange zombies and spy adventures yet to come.
