The Secret of the Backyard Pyramid
Leo and Mia were best friends who loved adventures. One Saturday morning, while digging in Leo's backyard, they hit something hard. It wasn't a rock. It was something smooth and golden.
"It's a pyramid!" Leo gasped, brushing away the dirt.
The tiny pyramid was only as tall as Leo's hand, but it glowed with mysterious light. Strange symbols covered its sides.
"What do you think it does?" Mia asked, her eyes wide.
Just then, Leo's cat Barnaby—whom everyone called 'the bull' because he charged through the house like a tiny bulldozer—came running. He pounced on a thick black cable lying in the grass, the one Leo's dad had left from his work.
Barnaby batted the cable right toward the pyramid. The moment the cable touched the golden object, symbols lit up like fireworks!
"Whoa!" both children shouted together.
The ground rumbled. In the center of Leo's swimming pool, water began to swirl and sparkle. A portal opened at the bottom of the pool, glowing with rainbow colors.
A voice echoed from the pyramid: "Only those with brave hearts may enter."
Leo looked at Mia. Mia looked at Leo.
"Together?" Leo asked.
"Together," Mia agreed.
They held hands and jumped into the pool. But instead of getting wet, they floated through the rainbow portal and found themselves in a magical kingdom where everything was made of crystals and light.
A tiny crystal guardian appeared. "You passed the test of courage. Many would have been afraid to jump into the unknown together."
"We weren't afraid," said Leo, "because we had each other."
The guardian smiled and handed them two crystal pendants. "These will remind you that the greatest magic is friendship. Whenever you're apart, hold these, and you'll feel close."
When they surfaced in Leo's pool, they were dry. The pyramid had vanished, leaving only the crystal pendants around their necks.
That night, under the stars, Leo and Mia sat by the pool, holding their pendants. They knew the best adventures were the ones you share with your best friend.
