The Secret of Sun-Drop Island

Lila loved running. Every morning, she'd race across the golden sand, her feet thumping in rhythm with the ocean waves. But lately, her legs felt heavy. Her grandma said she needed something special to feel strong again.

One Tuesday, Lila discovered a tiny island that appeared only when the sun turned everything orange. In the center stood a single palm tree with shimmering silver leaves.

"Hello, little one," the palm whispered, its trunk bending like a dancer.

Lila gasped. "You can talk?"

"Once every hundred years, I grow one magic fruit," said the palm. "It's filled with sunshine vitamin that makes you strong and fast. But you must promise to share it."

High above, a glowing orange appeared. It pulsed like a tiny heart, warm against Lila's palm when she caught it.

"Share it?" Lila looked toward the mainland where her friend Kai sat alone in his wheelchair, watching other children run.

"Magic grows when given," the palm rustled.

Lila bit her lip. She wanted the orange's magic all for herself. But Kai never got to run. Never got to race.

Her heart made the decision. Lila swam back, orange held high, and placed it in Kai's hand.

"For you," she said.

That day, something wonderful happened. Kai's legs began to wiggle, then wiggle more. Soon, he was running beside Lila, laughing, the orange's magic somehow still glowing in both their hearts.

And Lila understood—the best magic isn't what keeps us strong, but what we give away.

Now they run together every morning, and sometimes, just sometimes, that tiny island appears again, glowing orange in the distance.
