The Secret Message from Fin
Leo pressed his eye against the glass bowl. 'Are you trying to tell me something, Fin?' His pet goldfish swam in frantic circles, then stopped to look right at him with wide, surprised eyes.
At seven years old, Leo was an expert spy—or at least he played one every Saturday. He had his special spy notebook, his magnifying glass, and his greatest mission: figuring out what Fin the goldfish was thinking.
That afternoon, something strange happened. Leo was watching his favorite cartoon when the screen flickered and went dark. 'Oh no!' he cried. His dad had been working on the TV cable earlier, and Leo spotted something curious—tiny, wiggling movements inside the transparent cable.
He leaned closer. The movements looked... familiar. Like swimming motions.
'Spy Leo to the rescue!' he whispered. Fin swam excitedly in her bowl as Leo grabbed his magnifying glass. Pressing it against the cable, he gasped. Inside were dozens of tiny fish, swimming upstream like they were on an underwater adventure!
'You're not just cable wires,' Leo whispered in wonder. 'You're a secret fish highway!'
The tiny fish seemed stuck. The cable bent sharply near the wall, and they couldn't get past the tight turn. Leo knew what he had to do.
He went running outside, following where the cable snaked around the house. His heart pounded with each step. At the side of the house, he found the problem—the cable was pinched under a heavy flowerpot.
'Gotcha!' Leo lifted the pot with all his might. The cable straightened, and he imagined the tiny fish cheering as they swam freely toward whatever mysterious destination lay ahead.
Inside, Fin did three happy loops around her castle. Leo pressed his forehead against the glass. 'I'm onto your secret, Fin,' he whispered, smiling. 'But don't worry—I'm the best secret keeper in the whole world.'
That night, Leo fell asleep wondering where the cable fish were going, and most importantly—what other magical secrets were hiding right in front of him, waiting for a curious spy to find them.
