The Secret in Grandma's Palm

Lily loved visiting Grandma's house. Every Sunday, they'd sit on the porch swing, and Grandma would tell wonderful stories while holding Lily's small hand in her weathered palm.

One day, Grandma's old iPhone beeped with a mysterious message. Neither of them had used it in years. Lily tapped the screen, and suddenly, tiny golden letters swirled across the glass.

"Follow the star bull to the mountain of dreams," Grandma read, her eyes twinkling. "That's the constellation Taurus! He appears in winter."

That night, Lily sneaked to the window. There, in the dark sky, a bright star bull seemed to wink at her. To her amazement, the bull detached itself from the heavens and trotted down a moonbeam, landing softly on the grass.

"Climb on," the bull whispered, his voice like gentle thunder. "The Library Bear awaits."

Lily scrambled onto the bull's broad back, and they soared through clouds filled with cotton candy colors. Below, forests and rivers twinkled like fairy lights.

They landed in a cozy cave where the largest bear Lily had ever seen sat surrounded by floating books. He wore half-moon glasses and a kindly smile.

"Welcome, young story-seeker," the bear rumbled. "Every tale told with love becomes a star. Your grandmother has told thousands."

He showed Lily shelves of glowing books, each representing a story Grandma had shared. Lily saw tales of brave knights, curious rabbits, and magical trees—all the stories from Grandma's palm-illustrated storytelling sessions.

"Stories live forever when shared," the bear said. "Now you must choose: keep this magic secret, or become a storyteller yourself."

Lily thought of all the children who had never heard Grandma's stories. "I'll tell them," she promised. "Every Sunday, like Grandma does."

The star bull carried her home just as dawn painted the sky pink. In her pocket, she found a small glowing book.

That Sunday, Lily held her little brother's hand in her small palm and began, "Once upon a time..."

And somewhere, a star bull and a wise bear smiled as another story was born into the world.
