The Secret Garden Spy
Lily loved swimming in the lake behind her house, especially on hot summer days. But today, something strange caught her eye. Near the old oak tree, she spotted a tiny figure wearing a little green hat and carrying a telescope. It was Mr. Pippin, the garden gnome!
"Are you being a spy?" Lily whispered, swimming closer to the shore.
Mr. Pippin jumped! "Oh, hello! Yes, I'm on a very important mission. I'm watching for the zombie flowers!"
Lily giggled. "Zombie flowers?"
"Yes!" Mr. Pippin explained excitedly. "Every midnight, the magical sunflowers wake up and dance in the moonlight. But by day, they look like ordinary sleeping flowers. That's why we call them zombie flowers - they sleep all day but come alive at night!"
Lily's eyes widened with wonder. "Can I see them too?"
"Only if you promise to keep our garden secret," Mr. Pippin said solemnly.
"I promise!" Lily crossed her heart.
That night, Lily tiptoed back to the garden with her flashlight. And there they were - dozens of sunflowers swaying and twirling under the silver moon! They were having a flower party, their golden petals glowing softly.
Mr. Pippin waved from his spot by the tree. "See? Magic is real if you know where to look!"
Lily learned something wonderful that day: the world is full of surprises, and sometimes the best adventures happen when you're brave enough to explore the unknown. From then on, she and Mr. Pippin became the best of friends, having many more magical midnight adventures together.
