The Secret Garden Pool

Lily hated Saturdays at Grandma's house. There was no television, no tablet, and definitely no video games. Just an enormous garden filled with vegetables she refused to eat.

"Eat your **spinach**, dear," Grandma said at lunch. "It'll make you strong."

Lily wrinkled her nose. "I don't like green things."

After lunch, she wandered into the garden anyway. The sun shone bright and golden, making everything sparkle. Something glittered beyond the tomato plants. Lily crept closer, pushing aside tall leaves.

There, hidden in a circle of sunflowers, was a tiny **pool** of water, no bigger than a bathtub. But it wasn't ordinary water — it shimmered with rainbow colors, and the air around it smelled sweet, like sunshine and magic.

Lily knelt beside it. An **orange** butterfly landed on her nose, tickling her. She giggled, and when she blinked, the butterfly had turned into a tiny fairy with wings the color of a ripe tangerine.

"Hello!" the fairy said. "I'm Clementine. Welcome to the Magic Pool!"

"You're... you're a fairy?" Lily whispered.

"And you're a guest!" Clementine did a happy spin in the air. "The Magic Pool shows you what's wonderful about things you think you don't like. Would you like to see?"

Lily nodded, her heart beating fast.

Clementine sprinkled dust into the water. Images formed in the pool — mighty superheroes with muscles like mountains, all crunching on green leaves.

"**Spinach**!" Clementine announced proudly. "It gives you power to lift heavy things, run fast, and stay healthy. The ancient warriors ate it before battles!"

Next appeared a tropical island where children played under palm trees, eating golden fruit that glowed from within.

"**Papaya**!" the fairy continued. "It tastes like sunshine mixed with honey. It makes your skin glow and your eyes sparkle like stars. Pirates once searched for months just to find it!"

Lily's eyes grew wide. She had never imagined vegetables and fruits could be so exciting.

"Every fruit and vegetable has its own magic," Clementine said softly. "You just have to be brave enough to try it."

The images faded as the fairy returned to being a butterfly and flew away. Lily sat there for a long time, thinking.

That evening, when Grandma served spinach salad with papaya and orange segments, Lily didn't wrinkle her nose. She took a big bite and chewed thoughtfully.

"Grandma," she said with a smile, "this spinach makes me feel like I could lift a mountain!"

And maybe, just maybe, she could.
