The Secret Garden Pool
Lily loved exploring behind her grandmother's house. One afternoon, she pushed through a tangle of blackberry bushes and discovered something magical—a hidden pool, shimmering like liquid sapphires beneath the trees.
The water was crystal clear, and at the bottom grew the most unusual plants. They looked like ordinary spinach, but their leaves glowed with a soft green light and sparkled like tiny stars.
"Hello there!" a voice squeaked.
Lily jumped. A little green frog with golden spots sat on a lily pad. "I'm Finn! Welcome to the Vitamin Pool."
"Vitamin Pool?" Lily asked.
"Yes!" Finn hopped excitedly. "This magical water makes these special spinach leaves grow. Each leaf is packed with sunshine vitamins that make anything grow stronger and braver!"
Lily's eyes widened. "Really?"
"Try it!" Finn said. "But you must share. The magic only works with a kind heart."
Lily plucked a glowing leaf. It tasted sweet and crisp, like summer mixed with rainbows. Suddenly, she felt warmth spread through her—like a hug from the sun.
"Wow!" she whispered. Then she remembered her little brother Leo, who had been too scared to join the swimming race at school tomorrow.
"Can I take some for Leo?" Lily asked.
Finn smiled. "That's exactly why the magic works."
Lily gathered several glowing leaves carefully. That evening, she sprinkled the magical spinach into Leo's dinner. The next day, Leo swam faster than ever, grinning from ear to ear.
And every summer after, Lily and Leo visited the Vitamin Pool together, always sharing its magic with others who needed courage most.
Because the best magic, Lily learned, isn't just about what makes you stronger—it's about what you give away.
