The Secret Agent of Sunsplash Pool

Leo pressed his eye against the cracked magnifying glass, his heart racing. Today he wasn't just a boy in his backyard — he was Secret Agent Leo, the world's youngest spy.

His mission: retrieve his lucky baseball from Mr. Henderson's yard before anyone noticed.

Leo crept through the tall grass, moving like the spies in his favorite comic books. The baseball lay glittering in the sunlight, right beside Mr. Henderson's old swimming pool. But something strange happened when Leo reached for it.

The pool's surface shimmered like liquid diamonds. Suddenly, a tiny version of Leo appeared on the water's surface — wearing a proper spy suit and holding a gadget that looked like a silver palm.

"Agent Leo," said the water-reflection, "we've been expecting you."

Leo's eyes widened. "You can talk?"

"In the magical realm of Sunsplash Pool, anything can happen." The reflection held up the palm-shaped gadget. "This is the Palm of Wishes. Every summer, it chooses one pure heart to grant three wishes."

Leo's hands trembled. "Really?"

"But first," said the reflection, "you must prove your worth. Your baseball test has already begun. Look."

The baseball rolled toward the pool's edge. Without thinking, Leo dove and caught it just before it splashed into the water.

"Brave and quick-thinking," the reflection nodded approvingly. "You've passed. Your first wish?"

Leo thought hard. He could wish for anything — new spy gear, endless ice cream, or even a real rocket ship. But then he remembered his little sister Mia, who had fallen off her bike yesterday and was too scared to try again.

"I wish for Mia to be brave again," Leo said softly.

The Palm of Wishes glowed golden. "A generous heart is the greatest treasure. You have two wishes remaining."

Leo smiled. "I don't need them. Helping Mia was enough."

The reflection beamed. "You've learned the secret, Agent Leo. The magic was never in the wishes — it was in your kindness all along."

That evening, when Mia confidently rode her bike around the neighborhood, Leo pressed his magnifying glass to his eye one more time. And somewhere, in the magical depths of Sunsplash Pool, a tiny spy saluted him back.
