The Secret Agent Dog

spyzombieiphonedog

Lily pressed her eye to the hole in the cardboard box. This wasn't just any box — it was Secret Agent Headquarters, and she was the world's most clever spy.

"Agent Buster reporting for duty!" she whispered, scratching her golden retriever behind the ears. Buster woofed softly and wagged his tail. He was the best spy partner ever.

Today's mission: investigate the strange creature in Mrs. Higgins' garden.

Lily clicked the flashlight app on her iPhone. The beam cut through the evening darkness. Buster trotted beside her, his nose twitching with important smells.

Through the fence, they saw it. A green figure shuffled between the tomato plants. Its arms reached forward stiffly. Its head lolled to one side.

"A zombie!" Lily gasped, pulling Buster close. But then she noticed something. The zombie wasn't scary at all. It was wearing a sparkly purple cape and planting flowers, not eating brains.

"I'll go closer," Lily whispered to Buster. "You're the distraction."

Buster understood completely. He barked his most friendly bark and bounded toward the figure.

"Oh! Hello there!" said the zombie in a squeaky voice. It was actually a boy about Lily's age, wearing green makeup and oversized clothes. "I'm Oliver, and I'm practicing for the school play. I'm a Friendly Zombie who brings gardens back to life."

Lily giggled. "I'm Lily, Super Spy. This is Agent Buster."

"Want to help me plant these marigolds?" Oliver asked. "My zombie magic makes flowers grow extra fast."

So the world's cleverest spy, the friendly zombie, and Agent Buster planted an entire garden of flowers that night. By morning, Mrs. Higgins' garden was blooming with more color than ever before.

Lily learned something important that day: sometimes the things that seem strange or scary at first turn out to be wonderful friends. And the best spies aren't the ones who uncover secrets — they're the ones who discover new friends.
