The Sea Monster's Secret

Lila was running along the beach when she spotted something strange tangled in the seaweed. It wasn't a shell or a piece of driftwood—it was a thick metal cable that stretched far into the waves, glimmering like a silver serpent under the sun.

"What are you doing here?" she whispered, following the cable into the water.

Lila loved swimming more than anything. The ocean felt like a giant, salty hug, full of mystery and magic. But today, the sea seemed different. As she dove beneath the surface, something grabbed her foot—not scary, just gentle.

She popped up, sputtering, and came face-to-face with the most unusual creature she'd ever seen. It had green skin, bumpy like a pickle, with big, friendly eyes and the goofiest smile imaginable.

"I'm Ziggy!" the creature bubbled. "Everyone calls me a zombie because I move so slowly, but I'm not scary at all! I'm a sea zombie!"

Lila laughed. Ziggy did move slowly, wobbling through the water like a sleepy jellyfish. "What's the cable for?"

"Oh, that's my telephone line!" Ziggy said proudly. "I talk to my friend Barnaby the Whale every night. But it got tangled, and now I can't reach him."

Together, they dove deep, following the cable through coral castles and past schools of glittery fish. Lila's heart pounded with excitement. Finally, they found the problem—the cable was wrapped around a grumpy-looking crab.

"Excuse me, Mr. Crab," Lila said politely. "Could you please let go?"

The crab blinked, then slowly released the cable. "Sorry," he muttered. "I was just resting."

That night, Lila sat on the beach, listening as Ziggy chatted with Barnaby through the magical cable. She learned that friends come in all shapes and sizes—even ones who look like zombies but have the kindest hearts. And sometimes, the best adventures start with something as simple as running along the beach and spotting a mystery in the waves.
