The Sand Pyramid's Guardian
Leo, Mia, and Sam ran toward the sparkling ocean, their bare feet sinking into warm sand. The summer sun painted everything gold.
"Let's build something amazing today!" Leo shouted, dropping his bucket. "Not just a castle—a pyramid!"
For hours, the friends worked together, packing wet sand and shaping it until a magnificent pyramid rose from the beach. It was taller than Leo, with smooth sides that gleamed like treasure.
"Baseball break!" Mia called, grabbing her glove from her bag. They played until their arms grew tired, the ball soaring through salty air.
"Last one in the water's a rotten egg!" Sam yelled. They laughed, racing toward the waves for swimming. The cool ocean welcomed them, fish darting around their legs like silver ribbons.
But when they returned to their spot, something strange happened. The sand pyramid began to shake, and a figure rose from behind it—not a scary monster, but a friendly creature made entirely of golden sand!
"Thank you for building my home," the sand creature said with a grin that looked like ripples in a dune. "I'm Zando, the beach's very own sand zombie. But don't worry—I only eat sunshine and happy memories!"
"A zombie?" Sam gasped. "But you're so nice!"
Zando laughed, sounding like waves crashing. "Not all zombies are scary. Some guard special places and make sure children have wonderful adventures." He winked. "Want to see something magical?"
He touched their sand pyramid, and it suddenly glowed with rainbow light. Inside, they could see tiny rooms filled with toy treasures.
"This pyramid will be here whenever you visit," Zando promised. "And every time you return, I'll have a new adventure waiting—maybe buried treasure, maybe a game of magical baseball with flying balls!"
The friends spent the rest of the day playing with Zando, who taught them that the best discoveries come from friendship and imagination.
As the sun began to set, Zando whispered, "Remember, magic lives wherever kind hearts play together."
They waved goodbye, already planning their next beach day. And somewhere beneath the stars, Zando smiled, the happiest guardian in all the world.
