The Running Bull's Magic Garden

Lily loved running through her grandmother's garden, her bare feet dancing over the soft grass. But she never ran past the old stone wall at the garden's edge. Grandmother said a bull lived there, a grumpy creature who chased anything that moved.

One sunny afternoon, a butterfly as blue as the sky fluttered just beyond the wall. Lily's feet moved before she could think, and suddenly she was standing face-to-face with the most magnificent bull she had ever seen. His coat was the color of storm clouds, and his horns were tipped with gold.

"You're smaller than I expected," said the bull. "I'm Barnaby. What's your hurry?"

Lily's mouth fell open. "You can talk!"

"Of course I can talk. Can't you see I'm wearing my talking horns today?" Barnaby chuckled. "I was just about to have lunch. Would you like to join me?"

Behind the stone wall, Lily discovered the most magical garden she had ever seen. Instead of flowers, emerald-green spinach plants grew everywhere, glowing with a soft green light. Barnaby pulled up a bunch and offered it to her.

"Magic spinach," he explained. "One bite gives you the courage to do anything. Two bites makes you faster than the wind. Three bites... well, that's for special times."

Lily took a bite. Warmth spread through her chest, making her feel brave and sparkly inside. "What happens with three bites?" she asked.

Barnaby's eyes twinkled. "Three bites helps you help others."

Suddenly, they heard a cry for help. A small rabbit was trapped in a briar patch nearby!

Without thinking, Lily took two more bites of the magic spinach. Her heart began to race, and her legs felt light as air. She began running—faster than she had ever run before, faster than she knew was possible. She became a green blur as she zipped to the rabbit, gently freeing it from the thorns.

"Thank you!" squeaked the rabbit.

Barnaby nodded approvingly. "The magic wasn't in the spinach, Lily. It was in your brave heart all along. The spinach just helped you see it."

From that day on, Lily ran everywhere with confidence. And every Sunday, she brought fresh spinach sandwiches to her new friend behind the stone wall, where they would watch butterflies and dream of adventures. She learned that sometimes the scariest things are just friends waiting to be met, and the real magic comes from kindness and courage in your heart.
