The Running Bear's Star Vitamin
Lily loved climbing the old palm tree at the edge of her garden. Every afternoon, she'd scamper up the rough bark until she reached the very top, where she could see the whole valley spread out like a green quilt below.
One sunny morning, something magical happened. As Lily reached into the palm fronds to grab a coconut, her palm began to glow with a soft golden light. She gasped as tiny star-shaped fruits appeared in her hand, shimmering like captured sunshine.
"Star vitamins!" whispered a voice below.
Lily looked down to see the biggest, fluffiest brown bear she had ever seen. But this wasn't a scary bear—he was wearing jogging shoes!
"I'm Barnaby," the bear panted, wiping sweat from his forehead. "I'm training for the Great Forest Race, but I keep running out of energy. Those star vitamins are exactly what I need!"
Lily's eyes widened. "You can talk?"
"Of course!" Barnaby laughed. "And I love running, but I'm not very fast. The star vitamins from the magic palm tree give runners special energy—but only if someone with a kind heart shares them willingly."
Lily looked at the glowing star fruits in her hand, then at Barnaby's hopeful face. She remembered how her grandma always said that true magic comes from kindness.
"Here," she said, pouring the star vitamins into Barnaby's open paw. "Win the race for both of us!"
Barnaby gobbled them up and began running in circles, moving faster and faster until he was just a brown blur. "Thank you, Lily! You're the best friend ever!"
The next day, Lily climbed her palm tree again. This time, she found a shiny blue ribbon tucked in the fronds—Barnaby had won first place, but he'd saved his victory ribbon for her.
From that day on, every time Lily climbed the palm tree, star vitamins appeared in her palm. And every time, she shared them with someone who needed help. She learned that the real magic wasn't in the vitamins at all—it was in the joy of giving.
