The Rainbow-Haired Bull

Lily loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon, she'd grab her glove and run to the field behind her house, dreaming of hitting a home run that would touch the clouds.

But Lily had a secret worry. Her hair was always messy—wild curls that refused to stay tame, no matter how many times she brushed it. Other kids had smooth, neat ponytails. Lily felt like her hair had a mind of its own.

One evening, as Lily practiced her swing under the golden sunset, she heard a soft snort. Behind the old oak tree stood a magnificent bull with fur the color of storm clouds. But the most amazing thing was his hair—a shimmering rainbow mane that glowed like captured sunshine.

"You're beautiful!" Lily gasped.

The bull smiled gently. "I'm Barnaby, the sky bull. I fell from the constellation Taurus last night. My magical hair lights up when I'm happy, but it's all tangled from the fall. Will you help me?"

Lily's fingers, so used to gripping baseballs, worked carefully through Barnaby's rainbow mane. As she smoothed each knot, the colors brightened until they glowed so brightly that moths danced around them.

"Thank you," Barnaby said. "Your hands are kind. What makes you happy?"

Lily sighed. "I love baseball, but I'm not very good. And my hair is always messy."

Barnaby nuzzled her hand. "Your hair is perfect. It's wild and free, just like a good baseball pitch should be. And I've watched you play—you're wonderful because you never give up."

He touched his glowing mane to Lily's glove, and suddenly the leather sparkled with rainbow light. "Now you'll have magic with you whenever you play. But remember, the real magic is already inside you."

The next day, Lily hit the best home run of her life. Her wild curls bounced with joy as she rounded the bases, and Barnaby watched from above, his rainbow mane shining like a smile across the sky.

From then on, Lily never worried about her messy hair again. She knew that being different was exactly what made her special—just like her friend the bull who fell from the stars.
