The Pyramid Who Needed a Friend

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic. It was full of mysterious treasures: old clocks, dusty books, and strange objects from faraway places.

One rainy Saturday, Lily discovered something she'd never noticed before. Tucked behind a stack of boxes sat a small golden pyramid. But this wasn't just any pyramid—it had the most magnificent, curly, rainbow-colored hair sprouting from its very top!

"Hello there," Lily whispered, reaching out to touch the soft, sparkling curls.

The pyramid wiggled! Its rainbow hair bounced and shimmered like cotton candy in sunshine.

"Nobody's ever touched my hair before," said a tiny, squeaky voice. "Most people just run away when they see a pyramid with hair."

Lily giggled. "That's because they've never seen anything so wonderful! My name is Lily. What's yours?"

"I'm Pip," the pyramid replied shyly. "I've been waiting for a friend for three hundred years."

"Three hundred years?" Lily's eyes grew wide. "How lonely you must have been!"

Pip's rainbow hair drooped a little. "Very lonely. Grandmother brought me from Egypt, but I was too different to play with the other treasures. The old books said I was strange. The antique dolls called me peculiar. Even the dusty clock wouldn't tick around me."

Lily sat down beside Pip. "You're not strange—you're magical! And you know what? I have curly hair too. See?" She pointed to her own brown curls.

Pip's rainbow hair suddenly perked up, glowing brighter. "You really think I'm special?"

"I know you are," Lily said firmly. "And from now on, you'll never be lonely again. You're my friend, Pip."

Something magical happened then. Pip's rainbow hair grew longer and more beautiful, wrapping around Lily like a warm, sparkly blanket. The attic filled with golden light.

"Thank you, Lily," Pip whispered. "I was waiting for someone who could see past my pyramid shape to the friend inside."

That day, Lily learned something important: the best friends often come in the most unexpected packages. And sometimes, all it takes is one person to see the magic in someone else.

Every Saturday after that, Lily visited Pip. They had tea parties with antique dolls, read dusty books together, and the old clock finally started ticking again.

Because friendship, Lily discovered, is the most powerful magic of all.
