The Pyramid Under the Sea
Lily loved swimming more than anything. Every summer, she spent hours in the ocean, pretending she was a mermaid exploring magical kingdoms beneath the waves.
One hot afternoon, while swimming deeper than usual, Lily spotted something strange shimmering in the distance. It looked like a golden pyramid glowing underwater. Her heart raced with excitement!
Curious, Lily swam toward it. The pyramid was made of thousands of tiny seashells, arranged perfectly to catch sunlight filtering through the water. Suddenly, a boy with silver hair and seafoam-green eyes popped out from behind it.
"I've been waiting for someone to find my pyramid," he smiled. "I'm Finn."
"You live here?" Lily asked amazed.
"I'm a guardian of the sea," Finn explained. "My people build shell pyramids to protect ocean life."
"Can I be your friend?" Lily asked.
Finn's face brightened. "Only if you promise to keep our secret. Humans haven't always been kind to the sea."
Lily nodded solemnly. "I promise. I love the ocean and would never hurt it."
"Then you are welcome, my friend."
That summer, they visited each other every day. Finn showed her glowing coral gardens and ancient sea turtles who shared stories from centuries past. Lily told Finn about her world—her dog, school, and the stars she could see from her bedroom window.
One day, Finn gave her a small shell pyramid. "This helps you understand the sea's language. Listen carefully."
Lily closed her eyes and focused. She could almost hear the ocean whispering about protection and care.
"I understand," she said softly. "The ocean needs our help."
Lily became a guardian too, organizing beach cleanups and teaching others about ocean conservation. Every time she saw a pyramid, she smiled, remembering that true friendship has no boundaries.
The greatest adventures begin with an open heart and a curious spirit.
