The Pyramid Under the Pool
Leo loved summer evenings, especially when the fireflies danced around his backyard pool. But tonight was different.
His favorite baseball had rolled into the water with a splash. Leo reached in to grab it, but something magical happened. The pool began to glow with golden light, and suddenly, he wasn't looking at water anymore.
Beneath the surface sat a sparkling pyramid made of crystal. Inside, tiny goldfish with rainbow-colored scales were swimming in happy circles, playing what looked like baseball—with bubbles as balls!
"Come in!" called a goldfish with particularly shiny scales. "We're about to start the championship game!"
Leo found himself sliding into the water, but he wasn't wet. He was floating beside the crystal pyramid, watching the most amazing game ever. The goldfish were running (well, swimming really fast) around diamond-shaped coral bases, hitting bubble-balls with seaweed bats.
"You're on our team!" the goldfish said, pushing a tiny coral bat toward Leo. "We need your help beating the Starfish Squad!"
Leo had never played baseball underwater before, but batting at bubbles was surprisingly fun. *SWISH! BLOOP!* His bubble sailed past three starfish and landed in a treasure chest.
"HOME RUN!" cheered all the goldfish.
They played until the moon started to fade. As dawn approached, the goldfish gathered around Leo. "Thank you for helping us win!" said the shiny-scaled goldfish. "Remember, magic happens when you least expect it. Sometimes the most wonderful adventures are right in your own backyard."
Leo found himself back beside the pool, holding his baseball. The pyramid had vanished. But as he looked closely, he could see tiny golden scales glittering in the morning light.
"Sometimes," Leo whispered, "the best adventures happen when you just dive in."
From that day on, Leo never saw his backyard pool as just a place to swim. It was a portal to magic, where goldfish played baseball and pyramids sparkled beneath the waves. And every night, he'd check for golden light, ready for his next adventure.
