The Pyramid's Secret Wish

Lily loved swimming more than anything. Every summer day, she'd race to the neighborhood pool before the sun even peeked over the trees. But this Tuesday was different.

Something shiny caught her eye at the bottom of the deep end. Lily took a deep breath and dove down, her fingers grazing something smooth and golden. A tiny pyramid, smaller than her palm, with hieroglyphs that glowed like fireflies.

"What's that?" asked her best friend Mateo, dangling his feet in the water.

"I don't know," Lily said, turning it over. "But look—it's warm."

The pyramid hummed in her hands. Suddenly, the pool water began swirling around them, sparkling with tiny lights like a galaxy had fallen into the water.

"I think..." Lily whispered, "I think it wants something."

The pyramid projected pictures into the air: children laughing, friends sharing, kindness spreading like ripples.

"It's lonely," Mateo realized. "It was made by ancient children who wanted to be remembered for their friendship, not just gold and treasures."

Lily understood. The pyramid needed friends more than anything.

"We'll be your friends," she promised aloud. "Me and Mateo and everyone here."

The pyramid's glow softened, content. For the rest of the summer, Lily and Mateo brought new friends to meet their magical discovery. The pyramid never asked for anything else—just friendship, laughter, and the joy of being together.

And sometimes, when the sun hit the water just right, Lily could still see it winking from the bottom of the pool, reminding her that the greatest treasures aren't things you keep—they're wonders you share.
