The Pyramid's Secret Gift

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic, especially on rainy afternoons. The dusty boxes held treasures from around the world, but today something glimmered in the corner that she'd never noticed before.

It was a small crystal pyramid, no bigger than her hand, sitting on an old wooden shelf. As Lily reached for it, the pyramid suddenly grew warm in her palm. A swirl of orange light spiraled inside it, casting dancing shadows on the attic walls.

"Who's there?" a tiny voice squeaked.

Lily jumped and looked around. "I'm Lily. Who said that?"

"Me! The pyramid!" The orange glow brightened. "I've been sleeping for fifty years. My name is Piri."

Lily's eyes widened. "A talking pyramid? This is amazing!"

"I'm magic," Piri explained proudly. "In my home country, pyramids like me guard special gifts for children with kind hearts. But I've forgotten what gift I'm supposed to give you. I need your help to remember!"

Lily thought carefully. She loved helping others. "What if we find something together?"

Piri's orange light twinkled. "Yes! Let's start with water. I remember something about water being important."

They hurried downstairs to the garden, where rain had filled every puddle. Lily knelt by a muddy patch where a small bird fluttered weakly, unable to fly. Its feathers were matted, and it looked thirsty.

"Oh no!" Lily cried. "This bird needs help!"

"The gift!" Piri exclaimed. "Lily, bring me some water from that clean puddle!"

Lily carefully carried water in cupped hands. As she dripped it near the bird, Piri's orange light pulsed. Suddenly, the water sparkled with golden sparkles. The bird drank eagerly, then spread its wings and soared into the sky.

"Thank you!" the bird chirped before flying away.

Piri glowed brighter than ever. "I remember now! My gift is the magic of helping others. When you use water—or anything—with kindness, it becomes extraordinary."

Lily hugged the warm pyramid. "So the real magic was in me all along?"

"Yes," Piri whispered. "And now that you've discovered it, you'll always have it, even when I'm sleeping again."

That night, Lily placed Piri back on the shelf. She knew that whenever she needed magic, she just had to look for ways to help. The best adventures, she discovered, were the ones where kindness made everything shine orange and bright.
