The Pyramid's Secret Friends

Lily built a sand castle, but it looked ordinary. She wanted something magical. So she shaped the sand into a perfect pyramid, tall and pointy like the ones in books.

"I wish something amazing would happen," she whispered, pressing her hand against the warm sand.

Suddenly, the pyramid began to glow! A door appeared, and Lily stepped inside. The walls sparkled with tiny shells. In the center stood a beautiful palm tree, its leaves made of green ribbons that swayed even though there was no wind.

"Welcome!" said a voice. Lily looked up and saw the strangest friend ever—a zombie! But this zombie wasn't scary at all. His green skin was sparkly, and instead of saying "brains," he said "BRAINS! Like, smart ideas! I love thinking!" His name was Zed, and he was actually the friendliest zombie ever.

Then something else trotted out from behind the palm tree—a tiny golden bull no bigger than a puppy! His name was Buttercup.

"Want to go swimming?" Zed asked. "There's a magical pool inside the pyramid!"

The three friends splashed and played in water that felt like warm sunshine. Zed told funny jokes, Buttercup did flips, and Lily laughed until her sides hurt.

"I have to go home soon," Lily said sadly when the sun started to set. "My parents will wonder where I am."

"Come back tomorrow!" Zed and Buttercup cried.

Lily stepped out of the pyramid, which looked like ordinary sand again. But she knew better now. Sometimes, the most ordinary things hold the most extraordinary secrets.

And the scariest-looking monsters might just be the best friends you've never met.

Lily ran home, already planning tomorrow's adventure. She couldn't wait to introduce her new friends to swimming races and sandcastle contests. Because magic is even better when you share it.
