The Pyramid's Secret Friend

Leo loved building things in his backyard. One hot summer day, he piled up dozens of wet sand blocks until they reached his shoulders. It looked just like a mini pyramid from his adventure books.

"Mom! Come see my pyramid!" Leo called.

But before she could answer, something magical happened. Leo poured water from his green bucket over the sandy pyramid to help it harden. The water sparkled like tiny diamonds in the sun, and suddenly—the pyramid began to glow!

A curious head poked out from the top. It was green and lumpy, with stitch-like marks across its forehead. Leo gasped. It looked like the zombie from his video game!

The little zombie climbed down slowly, waving shyly. It held out a flower made of sand.

"Friend?" it squeaked in a tiny voice.

Leo stepped back, then remembered what his grandmother said: "Sometimes the scariest-looking things are the kindest inside."

He took the flower. "I'm Leo. What's your name?"

"Zim," the zombie smiled, showing not-scary teeth at all.

They spent the afternoon playing. Zim showed Leo how the water made magical shapes dance, and Leo taught Zim how to build. When evening came, Zim grew sleepy.

"Pyramid home now," Zim whispered, hugging Leo. "See you tomorrow?"

"Every day!" Leo promised.

As Zim disappeared back into his sandy pyramid, Leo realized something wonderful: the best friends often come from the most unexpected places. That night, Leo dreamed of pyramids, magical water, and his new friend Zim, excited for tomorrow's adventures.
