The Pyramid's Secret Friend

Lily loved exploring by the crystal blue water near her home. Every day after school, she'd search for shells and smooth stones. But today, something glinted from behind the tall reeds—a golden tip peeking above the rushes!

She pushed through the reeds and gasped. A miniature pyramid stood there, no taller than her dad, with shimmering hieroglyphs that changed colors like sunrise. Ancient and mysterious, it hummed with a soft melody.

Suddenly, the pyramid's entrance rumbled open. A figure emerged—greenish-gray skin, slow movements, tattered clothes. A zombie! Lily's heart raced, but she didn't run. Her grandma always said, "Sometimes the scariest things just need a friend."

The creature stopped, sad eyes watching her. It held something behind its back.

"Hi," Lily whispered, stepping closer. "I'm Lily. What's your name?"

The zombie blinked, surprised anyone would speak kindly. It slowly revealed what it held—a dusty old padel racket and a ball made of enchanted water. It pointed to the ground, asking without words.

Lily's eyes lit up. "You want to play?"

The zombie nodded eagerly.

They hit the water-ball back and forth across the magical shore. With every strike, the zombie's skin turned rosier. With every laugh, movements became quicker. The pyramid's hieroglyphs glowed brighter, casting warm light over their game.

"You're not scary at all," Lily said between hits. "You're just lonely."

The zombie smiled, now looking almost like a regular kid. A curse had been broken—not with swords or spells, but with friendship and play.

From that day on, Lily visited her pyramid friend after school. They'd play padel by the water, laughing under the sunset. Other kids would see them from afar and wonder about the mysterious girl playing near the golden pyramid.

Lily learned that day that things aren't always what they seem. A zombie might just be a friend in disguise, waiting for someone brave enough to say hello. And sometimes, the best magic happens when you open your heart to the unexpected.

The pyramid still hums its melody, guarding the magical water. But now it hums happier, because loneliness had been replaced with something far more powerful—friendship.
