The Pyramid's Secret Friend
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard, especially the old **palm** tree that towered over the garden like a friendly giant. Every summer, she'd visit Grandma's house in Mexico and spend hours climbing the tree's rough trunk, pretending she was an explorer discovering new worlds.
One hot afternoon, while playing beneath the palm tree's swaying leaves, Lily noticed something glimmering in the dirt. She dug carefully with her small hands and uncovered a tiny golden **pyramid** no bigger than her thumb. It was beautiful, with strange symbols etched into its sides.
"What have you found, mi niña?" Grandma asked, appearing with lemonade.
Lily showed her the discovery. That evening, Grandma told her stories about ancient pyramids and the magic they held. "Some say each pyramid protects something precious inside," she whispered.
That night, Lily kept the pyramid on her nightstand. At midnight, she heard a soft snorting sound. Peeking over the covers, she gasped – the pyramid was glowing! Tiny doors opened, and out stepped a miniature **bull** made of golden light, no bigger than her hand.
The bull bowed respectfully and spoke in a voice like wind chimes. "Thank you for freeing me! I've been trapped for a thousand years. I am Toro, guardian of lost dreams."
Lily sat up, amazed. "You're magical!"
"And you're kindhearted," Toro replied. "That's why the pyramid chose you."
Over the next week, Lily and Toro became best friends. He showed her how the palm tree was actually a dream-catcher, collecting wishes from children around the world. Together, they returned those wishes through the pyramid's magic, making dreams come true for kids who needed hope.
"True magic isn't about power," Toro taught her. "It's about using what you have to help others."
When summer ended, Toro returned to his pyramid, promising to always be her friend. Lily kept the golden pyramid safe, knowing that kindness and friendship were the greatest magic of all.
Years later, Lily became a teacher who helped children believe in their dreams. And sometimes, on special nights, she could still hear Toro's gentle snort, reminding her that the smallest discoveries can lead to the biggest adventures.
