The Pyramid's Secret Friend

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic on rainy afternoons. Between old trunks and dusty boxes, she found something she'd never noticed before—a small golden pyramid no bigger than her hand, glowing with an inner light.

"What are you?" Lily whispered, tracing the smooth sides.

Suddenly, the pyramid spun like a top, growing bigger and brighter until it became a doorway shimmering with stars. Without thinking, Lily stepped through.

She landed on soft sand under a purple sky. In the distance stood a magnificent pyramid made of crystal, sparkling like a giant diamond. But something strange moved nearby—a green figure shuffling through the sand.

Lily wanted to run, but the figure spoke in a friendly voice. "Don't be scared. I'm Zara, and I'm not really a zombie. I'm just sleepy from guarding this pyramid for three thousand years."

Zara's skin was green, but she had kind eyes and wore a colorful scarf. "This is the Dream Pyramid," she explained. "It holds all the beautiful dreams children have ever had. But someone needs to swim through the Dream Lake inside to restore its magic."

"I can swim!" Lily said eagerly.

Inside the crystal pyramid, a pool glowed with swirling colors. Lily dipped her toes in—warm and fizzy, like soda pop! She dove in, swimming through clouds of pink, blue, and gold. Each stroke created ripples of sparkles.

Zara cheered from the edge, doing a funny little dance that made Lily laugh. The zombie wasn't scary at all—she was lonely and just needed a friend.

As Lily swam, the pyramid's magic grew stronger. Dreams of flying dogs, rainbow castles, and ice cream mountains flowed through the water. Lily gathered them like precious shells.

When she emerged, Zara hugged her carefully. "Thank you! Now I won't be so lonely. The dreams will keep me company."

"Visit me anytime," Zara said, pressing a small crystal pyramid into Lily's hand. "Just hold it and think of our friendship."

Back in the attic, Lily clutched her crystal pyramid. She realized that sometimes the scariest-looking things just need a friend, and the best adventures come from being brave enough to try something new.

That night, Lily dreamed she was swimming through a crystal pyramid with her green friend, and it was the most wonderful dream of all.
