The Pyramid's Lightning Friend

Lily and her golden dog Max loved exploring behind their house. One rainy afternoon, lightning crackled across the sky like nature's own fireworks. Max barked excitedly, tail wagging, as he led Lily toward something mysterious in the woods.

There, half-hidden by ancient trees, stood a small crystal pyramid that seemed to glow from within. Max whimpered nervously, but Lily felt drawn to it. As lightning flashed again, the pyramid's crystal walls flickered with light.

Suddenly, the pyramid's front opened like a magical door. Inside sat not a scary monster, but a small green creature with patchy clothes and messy hair. He looked like a zombie from storybooks, but his eyes were kind and lonely.

"I've been waiting 3,000 years for someone to find me," the creature said sadly. "Everyone thinks I'm scary because I look different. But I'm just a guardian. My name is Zeb."

Lily noticed Zeb's pyramid was filled with beautiful drawings of children and animals playing together. "You wanted friends?" she asked.

Zeb nodded. "I was put here to protect this magical place. But guardians need friends too."

Max, who had been hiding behind Lily's legs, suddenly trotted forward and licked Zeb's hand. The creature's face lit up with joy.

"Dogs know good hearts," Lily said, smiling. "Will you be our friend, Zeb?"

Outside, the storm cleared. Lightning gave way to sunshine streaming through the pyramid's crystal ceiling. Zeb showed Lily and Max amazing treasures: butterflies made of light, flowers that sang when touched, and a mirror that showed you your happiest dreams.

"True friendship," Zeb said softly, "is the strongest magic. It doesn't matter how you look. What matters is how you treat each other."

Every day after school, Lily and Max visited their friend at the glowing pyramid. Zeb taught them that differences make us special, and that everyone deserves a friend - even zombie-looking guardians in magical pyramids.
