The Pyramid of Wishing Water
Lily splashed in the puddle, watching the droplets dance like tiny diamonds. Her golden retriever, Barnaby, barked happily and jumped in too, sending water flying everywhere.
"Barnaby!" Lily giggled, shaking water from her hair. "You're the silliest dog in the world!"
But as the water settled, something magical happened. The ripples formed a perfect shape—a glowing blue pyramid rising from the puddle. Lily gasped. Inside the crystal pyramid swirled colors like a rainbow caught in a bubble.
"Wow," she whispered. Barnaby tilted his head, curious.
A voice echoed from the pyramid, soft as a lullaby: "I am the Pyramid of Wishes. What does your heart desire?"
Lily thought hard. She could wish for anything! Toys, candy, endless summer...
Then she remembered her friend Mateo, who had been sick all week. He couldn't play, couldn't run, couldn't have adventures. Mama said he needed medicine and vitamins to get strong again.
"I wish," Lily said bravely, "for my friend Mateo to feel better. So we can play together again."
The pyramid glowed brighter. "A wish for another is the most powerful magic of all."
Suddenly, the pyramid dissolved into sparkling mist that swirled around Barnaby, then drifted out of the puddle and through the air toward Mateo's house.
The next day, Mateo knocked on Lily's door, smiling and holding his vitamin bottle like a trophy. "I feel all better! My grandma said I had the best night's sleep ever. Want to play pirates?"
Lily hugged her friend. As they ran to the backyard with Barnaby bounding alongside, Lily noticed something glittering in the grass—a tiny blue pyramid charm, no bigger than her thumb.
She picked it up and slipped it into her pocket. Some magic was worth keeping, especially the magic of friendship and wishes made with love.
