The Pyramid of Wishes
Lily loved running through the meadow behind her house, her orange sneakers flashing like little suns against the grass. One hot afternoon, she discovered something strange — a golden pyramid no bigger than her hand, glimmering beside the old telephone cable that ran through the field.
"Hello?" she whispered. The pyramid hummed back!
Suddenly, a tiny blue creature popped out from behind the cable. He was made entirely of water, shimmering and rippling like a living puddle with big friendly eyes.
"I'm Splash!" the water boy bubbled. "And you found the Wishing Pyramid! It grants one wish to anyone with a true heart."
Lily's eyes widened. "Really? But I should wish for something important..."
Splash rippled with laughter. "Important doesn't mean big! Sometimes the smallest wishes matter most."
Lily thought hard. She could wish for endless candy, or a flying bicycle, or to become a princess. But then she remembered her elderly neighbor, Mrs. Chen, who couldn't walk to the garden she loved anymore.
"I wish," Lily said carefully, "that Mrs. Chen could see her beautiful flowers again every day."
The pyramid flared with golden light. When it faded, a beautiful window appeared in the air, showing Mrs. Chen's garden in perfect detail.
"Oh!" Mrs. Chen's voice called from next door. "However did this happen? What a lovely view!"
Splash cheered, sending little water droplets dancing in the sun. "You did it, Lily! That was the perfect wish."
"Because it helped someone else?" Lily asked.
"Because it came from your heart," Splash said. "The best wishes always do."
Lily waved goodbye as her new friend melted back into the earth to water the flowers. Running home with her orange sneakers flashing, she knew magic was real — and the best kind was the kind you shared with others.
