The Pyramid of Wishes

Lily loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, she'd grab her glove and run to the park, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run.

One afternoon, while chasing a fly ball, she noticed something sparkling near the old oak tree. It was a small golden pyramid, no bigger than her thumb. When she picked it up, it felt warm, almost alive.

"That's mine!" a voice squeaked.

Lily looked around. No one was there. Then she spotted a goldfish in a tiny puddle nearby—a puddle that should have dried up days ago.

"Did you speak?" Lily asked, eyes wide.

"I did!" The goldfish swam gracefully. "I'm Prince Finley, and that pyramid is my home. It grants wishes, but only to kind hearts."

Lily couldn't believe it. A talking fish? A magical pyramid? This was better than any baseball game!

"What kind of wishes?" she asked.

"Wishes that help others," Prince Finley said. "The pyramid chose you because you always share your baseball with kids who don't have their own."

Lily thought hard. She could wish for anything—endless baseballs, a trophy, or even a new iPhone like her friend had. But then she remembered her grandpa, who couldn't play catch anymore because his back hurt.

"I wish my grandpa could feel better and play baseball with me again."

The pyramid glowed brighter than the sun. Lily closed her eyes tight, then opened them to find her grandpa walking toward the park, smiling and holding a baseball glove.

"Lily!" he called. "My back suddenly feels wonderful! Want to play catch?"

They played until sunset, the best game ever. Prince Finley watched from his puddle, while the golden pyramid sparkled in Lily's pocket.

That night, Lily learned something important: real magic isn't about getting what you want. It's about helping others, especially the people you love.

And sometimes, the greatest wish isn't for things at all—it's for perfect moments like playing baseball with someone you adore.
