The Pyramid of Wishes

Leo loved playing baseball in his backyard. One sunny afternoon, he hit his favorite ball so high it disappeared behind the old oak tree. When he went to find it, he discovered something amazing.

Hidden among the roots was a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than his fist. It glowed with a warm, magical light. Inside the crystal-clear water that filled its center, Leo could see swirling colors like a rainbow.

"Looking for this?" squeaked a tiny voice. Leo jumped! A brave little squirrel wearing a miniature cable around his neck like a scarf peeked out from behind the pyramid.

"I'm Secret Agent Squeaky, the friendliest spy in the garden!" the squirrel announced proudly. "This is the Pyramid of Wishes. The water inside grants one wish to anyone with a pure heart."

Leo's eyes widened. "Really?"

"But remember," Squeaky warned, "the wish must help others, not yourself. That's the ancient rule."

Leo thought hard. He could wish for endless baseballs, or to be the strongest player ever. But then he thought about his little sister Mia, who was too scared to play baseball because she always missed the ball.

"I wish," Leo said softly, "that my sister Mia could hit the baseball perfectly and feel proud of herself."

The pyramid's water shimmered with golden light. Suddenly, the tiny cable around Squeaky's neck glowed too, shooting magical sparks into the sky like fireworks.

"Wish granted!" Squeaky cheered.

That afternoon, Mia hit every single ball Leo pitched to her. She laughed and spun around, her face shining with joy. Leo felt warmer than any summer sun.

Later, when he looked behind the oak tree, the pyramid was gone. But Squeaky left something behind—a baseball made of pure golden light, which Leo kept in his room as a reminder.

Sometimes, Leo realized, the best magic isn't about getting what you want. It's about helping someone else shine.
