The Pyramid of Wild Wishes
Maya had the most extraordinary hair in her class. It bounced like springs and changed color with her mood—purple when she was happy, blue when she was curious, and sparkly gold when she was excited.
One day, while exploring her grandmother's attic, Maya discovered a dusty wooden box. Inside was a golden pyramid charm on a silver chain. When she touched it, the pyramid glowed!
"Whoopsie-doodle!" a voice squeaked.
A tiny bull no bigger than Maya's thumb trotted out from behind the pyramid. His fur was rainbow-colored, and his horns were made of spun sugar.
"I'm Barnaby, the Wish Bull," he announced proudly. "That pyramid you found? It's magical! It grants one special wish to anyone with truly magical hair."
Maya's hair turned bright pink with surprise. "Magical hair?"
"Indeed!" Barnaby tapped his hoof. "Your hair has been waiting hundreds of years for this moment. Inside the pyramid are three wishes, but you must choose only one—and it must help someone else."
Maya thought hard. She could wish for unlimited candy, or a pet dragon, or to fly...
Then she remembered her friend Liam, who used a wheelchair and couldn't play soccer with the other kids at recess.
"I wish," Maya said firmly, her hair glowing emerald green with kindness, "that Liam had a magical flying wheelchair so he can play soccer with us!"
The pyramid burst with rainbow sparkles. When the light faded, a small golden model of a flying wheelchair appeared. Barnaby whispered, "Take this to Liam. It will become real-sized when he believes in magic."
The next day, Maya gave Liam the gift. When he held it, his eyes widened with wonder. The wheelchair grew to full size, floating gently above the ground.
That afternoon, Liam scored the winning goal, zooming and diving through the air. Maya cheered loudest of all, her hair shimmering in every color of the rainbow.
"Best wish ever," Liam said, grinning.
Maya hugged Barnaby, who had appeared to watch. She learned that the best magic isn't making wishes for yourself—it's making dreams come true for others.
And sometimes, the most extraordinary magic comes from the most unexpected places... even from a girl with very unusual hair and a tiny sugar-horned bull.
